Marking and traceability

Syntact Automation also develops applications enabling unitary product traceability.

In the field of industry, traceability must be reliable, making it possible to convey important information about the product, from the moment of manufacture to consumption of the product.

In the pharmaceutical industry in particular, the entry into force of the new AFSSAPS regulations from January 1, 2011 requires traceability in accordance with the GS1 standard. This allows manufacturers to harmonize their product marking systems for all of their customers, regardless of country.

This involves printing a Datamatrix directly onto secondary packaging, including the 13-character CIP code, batch number, expiry date and in some cases, serial number. Printing these codes integrating variable data requires an efficient marking system, while respecting production rates.

Syntact Automation has produced numerous programs for marking systems, particularly laser, and has designed applications to supervise the installation and reliably ensure the traceability of information at very high speed. Traceability can be carried out by a standalone application, but can also be integrated into the Galileo software suite, thus offering additional tools for data exploitation.
